Welcome to the Youth Piano Competition 2008!
The Youth Piano Competition is an annual competition held in Vancouver, B.C., allowing young artists (ages 11-19) to become, for a moment in time, a concert pianist. We are looking for young artists that have something to say about their music and for those wishing to showcase their talent. The competition was formerly known as the CIBC Youth Piano Competition.
Auditions will be held in mid-May and we will select eight finalists to play at the Tom Lee Music Concert Hall on May 25th, 2008 in front of a large community audience. We would like to welcome every one to join us to support and congratulate these talented young artists.
First Prize: $1000
Second prize: $500
Third Prize: $200
Applications must be post marked by April 24th, 2008.
April 10, 2008: Due to a temporary mail problem, applications mailed before April 9 may be returned to the sender. Canada Post has rectified the problem but we strongly encourage applicants to resubmit their application online. Once your application has been received, YPC will contact you regarding payment. Applicants applying after April 9 will not be effected but online applicants can expect to receive earlier notification of their audition date.
